VOLUNTEER OPPORUNITIES

Serving can help you make friends, learn new skills, and even feel happier and healthier.

With our busy lives, it can be hard to find time to get involved. However, the benefits can be enormous. Serving offers valuable service to Ahava B'Shem Yeshua and the congregation, but the benefits can be even greater for you. Volunteering can help you to meet and make friends, connect with the congregation, and even learn new skills.

Giving to others helps protect your mental and physical health. It can reduce stress, combats depression, keeps you mentally stimulated, and provides a sense of purpose. While it’s true that the more you volunteer, the more benefits you’ll experience, volunteering doesn’t have to involve a long-term commitment or take a huge amount of time out of your busy day. The more active volunteers we have the lesser the burden on those who are already volunteering by allowing breaks in service and the ability to fill in when they are absent. Giving in even simple ways can be serving to Adonai and improve your health and happiness.

Volunteer Opportunities at Ahava B'Shem Yeshua

Kitchen

We are always in need of help in the kitchen.  Oneg is a special time of fellowship for the congregation after Shabbat service and the volunteers who serve the meal are greatly appreciated.  If you can serve in this capacity, please contact one of our staff before or after one of our services.

Sound Booth

Help is always needed in the Sound Booth for Shabbat Services.  Managing sound, recording and running the computer for music is a critical function for our services.  Even if you have no experience training is available for you to learn a skill set.  If you can volunteer to get on the schedule to help work in the sound Booth, please contact one of our staff before or after one of our services.

Setup and Break Down Team

Each week the setup team ensures everything is all set for Shabbat Service and once service has concluded puts everything back as it was.  This task is vital to the stewardship of the facility which we share with other congregations.  If you can, get into the rotation to assist in this essential service. Please contact one of our staff before or after one of our services.
