L’shanah Tovah (for a good year)!

Shanah Tovah!

Come celebrate Rosh Hashanah with Ahava B’Shem Yeshua!

Shanah Tovah Umetukah “A Good and Sweet Year!”

Shofar and ScriptureAlso known as Yom Teruah and the Feast of Trumpets, Rosh Hashanah literally means “the head of the year.”

ADONAI spoke to Moses, saying: “Speak to Bnei-Yisrael (the Children of Israel), saying: In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you are to have a Shabbat rest, a memorial of blowing (shofarot), a holy convocation. You are to do no regular work, and you are to present an offering made by fire to ADONAI.” (Leviticus 23:23-25) TLV Version

The shofar is a call to repentance.

This is the first of three feasts in the month of Tishrei.

  • Tishrei 1: Feast of Trumpets (beginning the 10 “Days of Awe” culminating on the Day of Atonement)
  • Tishrei 10: Day of Atonement
  • Tishrei 15-22: Feast of Tabernacles
